The organization's 11,000+ Coforge Ltd. has entered into an agreement with SLK Global Solutions Pvt Ltd. to acquire a 60% stake in the company for a consideration of ~$122 million (Rs 918 crore) leading to a valuation of approximately three times FY20 enterprise value/sales.The company will acquire additional 20% over the next two years.The company will fund the acquisition via debt (~Rs 375 crore or $50 million) and Coforge, formerly NIIT Technologies, will acquire another 20% stake in the unlisted Pune-based SLK Global after Solutions two years from US-based Fifth Third Bank. The bank, which is also its largest client for the SL Kirloskar group company, will see its stake in SLK Global Solutions reduce to 40% following the current transaction. Coforge (formerly NIIT Technologies) is a company providing IT solutions. It focuses on three key verticals: banking and financial services, insurance, and travel, transportation, and hospitality. “Coforge’s technology and digital capabilities will be highly relevant to SLK Global’s customer base that includes several marquee names in the BFS and Insurance industries, while the latter’s capabilities will enable Coforge to compete more effectively for deals that have a major BPM/BPO operations component.
